My Twist on the Freezer Paper Ts..

Awhile back, I saw a post on the Cricut messageboards of a freezer paper T-shirt with the Transformers Autobots logo on it. I have not forgotten about that shirt!! My son, Aaron, AKA Binx, is a Transformers fanatic and I thought it would be fun to make him a shirt like that.

One day, I came across a fonts website. I started to download, and eventually ended up with hundreds of new fonts, one of which is the Transformers font. This font has the Autobots and the Decepticon logos as one of the special characters. After installing it, I had to light a fire under DHs rear so that I could get SCAL activated. (That's a whole other post!)

I finally get SCAL activated, do some measuring on one of my son's shirts, get everything laid out in SCAL and here is the final result (with an extra):

To make this T, I didn't use freezer paper. I used a roll of Contact paper that I have had floating around for a year or so. The roll is 12", so all I had to do is cut it on one end to fit my mat. After sending it through the Cricut, I cut the different parts apart, laid them out on the shirt and painted with yellow acrylic paint. Sooooo much easier without having to drag out the iron!

The paint can Binx is holding is a birthday gift for a friend on his baseball team. He also loves Transformers so we made him a matching shirt (with his name of course). We filled the can with the shirt, Transformer stickers, temporary tattoos, a small Bumbleebee Transformer and sunflower seeds.

Here is the back of the can:

I tied the opener onto the handle. Hopefully it won't get lost!

Here is a link to the font: http://www.dafont.com/search.php?psize=m&q=sftransrobotics
I had to weld an "I" to the bottom of the T and the F of TransFormers to make them longer like the real logo.

Please excuse my messy room! Scrappin' is a messy business! lol

Testing my mobile blogging...

My VERY First Blog Post EVER!

Hi! Though I have been on the internet FOREVER, I have never had a blog. Oh, I guess I have a blog on MySpace, but I don't really consider that a BLOG blog...anyway, this is my first ever post with many more to come!

I plan on posting mainly about my crafting and scrapbooking endeavors. So, check back often!
